Robert F Dwyer, Jr. received his B.A. degree from Yale University in 2004. After graduating, he entered Albany Law School earning his law degree in 2007. He was admitted to practice before the state courts of Connecticut and New York. Subsequently he has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is a member of NY State Bar Association and he is also a past member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. Attorney Dwyer is the past president of the Litchfield County Bar Association and was named one of Connecticut's Top Ten under 40 Criminal Defense Attorneys for 2016 by The National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys. In addition, in 2014 he was named as a New Leader of the Law by the CT Law Tribune and most recently named in 2017 one of the 10 Best Attorneys in CT by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys and the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys. He started his own practice in 2009 and since then he has counseled a broad range of individuals in personal injury litigation, criminal defense, DUI defense, divorce law, family law, foreclosure defense, estate planning, land use & zoning issues, tax appeals, and civil litigation. He has represented corporations in planning, formation, financing, acquisition and sale of business and non-profit entities. He has represented numerous clients in purchasing of residential real estate. Attorney Dwyer's passion is being in the courtroom and he has successfully litigated an array of criminal, civil, and land use cases.
